About BInocular Vision & Vision Therapy
A binocular vision examination involves tests of eye alignment, eye muscle strenth, focusing ability and speed, depth perception, eye tracking and others. Many of these tests are not part of a standard vision examination and may not be performed unless there is a sign or symptom of a binocular vision problem.
Vision therapy is a series of treatment procedures prescribed by Doctors of Optometry, or visual therapists, to improve vision problems that cannot be helped with only glasses or contact lenses. Vision therapy is much akin to physical therapy for the eyes, during which vision disorders are corrected to improve patients' visual function and performance.
